Candela Eagles continue their pursuit of a top-rated education at Briscoe Junior High. The school has a student body of approximately 1,225 seventh and eighth-graders. Like other junior highs in Richmond TX, the school lets each student explore talents and interests outside of academics through activities and clubs including, journalism, choir, championship-level athletics, FFA, cheerleading, and more. Briscoe Junior High is named after Andrew J. Briscoe, a Texas patriot whose legacy lives on as many of his descendants have attended, taught at, and support Lamar ISD schools.
